Colossians 3:15 says, "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you were indeed called in one body: and be thankful." As I read this verse, I saw 2 commands: I should let the peace of God rule in my heart and I should be thankful. How do I let the peace of God rule in my heart? I obey Him...in ALL things. I seek Him and His will. I do what I know pleases Him and what He tells me to do. I TRUST Him no matter what is happening. Having peace and being thankful are not dependent on my circumstances. I CHOOSE to be thankful if things are going well, and I CHOOSE to be thankful when times are hard. I know God is faithful. He is with me. He will provide. He loves me. And I am thankful. As I am thankful, I reaffirm my trust in Him and that brings me peace. Whatever you are dealing with, thank God for His faithfulness to you in the past. Thank Him for His love. Thank Him that He is with you and will help you. Express out loud that you trust Him, and then thank Him for His peace.
